About

Biography

Dawn J Demaske is a landscape photographer based in Minnesota with more than 20 years of photography experience. Her work has been on display in numerous art exhibitions locally and out-of-state over the past two decades. Her photography focuses on the raw beauty of the natural  environment, mostly in wilderness areas and public lands. She brings attention to unique and special places that are under threat by man and climate change. Her work captures serene moments of fleeting golden light and colorful landscapes of these special places she photographs.

Another part of her photography repertoire is night photography or astrophotography.  Her night photography brings attention to a world that is shrinking and not available to see for billions of people on the planet. She seeks out protected lands, such as national parks and wilderness  areas, to experience and photograph dark, starry skies. This natural resource  is a vanishing and priceless treasure and she wishes to bring attention to the issue of light pollution and educate people about it and how it can be mitigated.
